If you’re like most people you don’t want to grit your teeth and grind through a relationship.  You want it to be fun, enjoyable, amazing, everything you imagined it would be. We’re here to tell you that you can have that life.  But, it requires training and hard work.

 

Did you know the average cost of a wedding in the United States (2017) was $25,764. Couples spend between $19,323 and $32,205.

 

At the same time, the average amount spent on preparing for marriage is less than $100.

 

It’s no wonder we have BAD marriages.  We spend all our time and money on BIG weddings.  Our way of doing things is broken. Think about it.  You study and train to get a driver’s license, a pilot’s license, even a boating license.  Yet, if you want to get a marriage license, all you have to do is show up, pay some money and BAM! You’re married.

 

It’s like putting a 5 year old in a vehicle and sending him out on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago.  He’s not prepared. There’s an accident, (In your marriage, it’s separation or divorce) and everyone gathers around, wondering what went wrong.  

 

Every year in the US, there are approximately 2.5 million weddings.  And every year, about 50% of marriages experience an accident. Statistically speaking, we know most of these weddings take place between totally unprepared individuals.  In fact, our wedding was one of them.

 

We thought we were prepared.  We knew people who were married.  We saw married people on TV. How hard could it be?

 

The answer is hard.  Trust me. We’ve been married for over 30 years, and this is hard work. If you want the marriage you’ve always dreamed of, you’ve got to be prepared.

You are in a war.

 

And war is dangerous under any circumstances, but think about how much more dangerous war is when the combatants don’t even know they’re at war.  That’s where most of us are.

 

As children of God, we have an enemy.  Our enemy wants to see us fail in our marriage, in our family and in life.  So, who is this enemy, and why is he constantly interfering? Good question.

 

The enemy is named Satan, and he hates us because God loves us.  And since he can’t do anything to God himself, he lashes out at us.  Does that make sense? Assuming you’ve had little to know training, he’s the reason you can’t seem to stop fighting with your spouse.  He’s the reason you’re lacking intimacy. He’s the reason you feel so isolated.

 

Satan has launched an assault to destroy your marriage, my marriage, and the institution of marriage.

 

The Bible makes it clear.  Ephesians 6: 10-11 says, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

 

That’s why we’re here.  That’s why we created WAR.  We’re here to not only help you put on God’s armor, but to also give you the tools your marriage will need every day to survive and ultimately thrive.  

 

Love is WAR!  And it’s time to suit up with us!
